The way the filtering setup works is very easy. Basically there are two steps to start filtering any domain. The first step is that our server has to know where to send the email once it is filtered. The second step is to change the MX records for the domain to point to our servers. The email from the Internet to that domain comes to our servers - we clean it - and then pass it on to the server that has the actual mailboxes.
When we set up a domain for this service we are the ones who add the domain to the list of domains we process. Entries in the table look like this:
But - when we set you up as a reseller we let you create a text file on your server that we can access from a web page request. A web page that no one else knows about except us. On that we page you have a text file of all the domains that you are buying the spam filtering service for and where the target email server is like in the example above. Every hour we read your list and update all our email routing tables so any new domains added by you become part of the system. This allows you complete control without having to contact us every time you need to add a new domain. This makes it very easy for you to maintain.
And - you don't even have to be in the hosting business to be a reseller. The domain server pairs can point anywhere and all you have to do is go out and sell the service for any price you want and we bill you for the number of emails we process for your list.
